Greene And Powell best in Race Against Cancer

tez powell chris johnson chase hensdell allen greeneAllen Greene is a regular at Wilkesboro Raceway Park, but you rarely ever see him in a driver suit. Greene can mostly be seen crewing and helping out reining WRP Top ET champion Roger Robertson, but not this past Saturday!

Greene rooled out his blazing fast Trans Am and put all challengers on the trailer to take home the $2000 prize. Greene was matched up with Tracy Kilby and his classic Nova in the finals.
Modified ET saw the young guns of the sport show the old pros how it’s done.
Both former multi track Jr. Dragster champions, Tez Powell and Hannah “Bubblegum” Blevins and their classic Chevelle’s met up in the finals.
Blevins gave it all she had, but came up short handing Powell the win.

Buchanan And Watson Victorious At WRP

jerry wheeler michael holloway robert buchanan tom watsonGreat weather two weeks in a row and the return of day racing to Wilkesboro Raceway Park brought out the old pros.

In Top ET, former multi time WRP champion Robert Buchanan and his dragster took home the win, but by no easy task. Buchannan was paired up with another former multi time WRP champion in Timbo Blevins.
Modified ET saw the same results, two former champions, Tom Watson and Dennis Coffey. Most of the time when Coffey is in the final round, he get the win, but not today, Watson and his classic Mercury took home the prize.
In the Thursday Night Thunder shootouts, Michael Holloway took home the win in the Crossroads Harley Davidson Streetbike Shootout, and Jerry Wheeler was the winner in Top Street.

Leaser Marler And Coffey Take Wins

Finally Mother Nature went away and Father Sunshine smiled brightly on the racing at Wilkesboro Raceway Park.

Carl Marler and his Duster took home the Top ET prize by defeating CJ Curtis and the famed El Toro Barracuda in a all Mopar final.
Mdoified ET Saw Track Champion Dennis Coffey take the win over Keith Atchison.
In their final appearance of the 2013 campaign, Larry Leaser brought out his big wheelie popping Camaro and took home the victory.
Racing This week moves to daytime, with Gates opening at 11 Qualifing @ 12:30.

Day racing Starts Oct 5th with Gates opening at 11 am, Qualifying at 12.30, and the race begins at 2 pm.  All remaining Saturdays will be used for Rained out points races, except for the Race Against Cancer on the 12th of Oct.  The Friday Night Gambler’s Race on the 11th will start at 7.30 and will payback 80% of the $35 entry, 2 buy backs allowed at $20 1st 2nd or 3rd round loss in all four classes Top ,Mod Bikes and Jrs. Over night parking is allowed but all entries must be paid at entry.

Father and Son Finals highlight Big Bucks Shootout

The pride of the Mopar camp, father and son, Luke and Brandon Hutchens have raced each other for well over a decade, in fact took each other out in  few races, but had never met in a final round til Saturday night. A confident Brandon and his Duster left the line first, but Luke and his mighty Plymouth Arrow used the force and nailed the start with a .0009 light, giving him the holeshot win over son Brandon.

In Modified ET it was a all bowtie event in the final round.
Reining WRP Modified ET Champion Johnny Hodges and his faithful Nova Ol’ Blue faced off with the Mozilla Monza of. Tim Byrd
Hodges used his championship form and took home the winners share of the Big Buck shootout purse
